Understanding Key Exchange Odds & Promotional Tier Benefits
Welcome! This document explains how the upcoming NFT2Key Exchange system works, focusing on how the rarity of your NFTs influences the Keys you receive and how special Promotional Tier NFTs get an advantage. The decisions aren’t final but any possible changes will be small.
The Basics: Key Exchange & Rarity
In the Key Exchange, you can exchange two of your NFTs to receive one Key. These Keys grant access and come in different tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. There's also a legendary Mythic Key!

Important Mechanic: Random NFT Burn!
Here’s a key part of the process: When you submit your two NFTs, the system first determines your Key outcome based on both NFTs' characteristics (Rarity, Promotional Tier, Mythic Trait). Then, before you receive your Key, the system will randomly select ONE of your two submitted NFTs to be permanently burned if they are the same rarity or the highest. The other NFT (the one not selected) will be safely returned to your wallet. This means for each exchange, you ultimately spend one random NFT from the pair you submitted to get your Key.
The Tier of the Key you receive is based on chance, heavily influenced by the Rarity Rank (based on Tensor ranks) of the two NFTs you submit. We categorize NFTs into Rarity Tiers (T1 being the rarest tier, down to T5 being the most common). Generally, exchanging rarer NFTs increases your chances of receiving higher-tier Keys according to our standard probability calculations.
While there's always an element of luck, submitting higher-ranked NFTs definitely improves your odds for better Keys!
How it Works: Rarity Tiers Matter!
- Rarity Tiers: First, every non-Mythic NFT in the collection is categorized into a Rarity Tier based on its overall Tensor rank:
- T1: Top 5% (Rarest NFTs)
- T2: Next 10% (Top 15% overall)
- T3: Next 20% (Top 35% overall)
- T4: Next 25% (Top 60% overall)
- T5: Remaining 40% (Most Common NFTs)
- Combining Tiers: When you submit two NFTs for exchange, the system identifies the Rarity Tier of each one (e.g., you might submit a T2 and a T4).
- Looking Up the Odds: This specific combination of tiers (e.g., T2 + T4) corresponds to a set list of probabilities for receiving each Key Tier, as detailed in the table below.
Key Principles to Remember:
- Rarer Inputs = Better Odds: As you'd expect, submitting NFTs from rarer tiers (like T1 or T2) generally increases your chances for the higher-tier Keys (like Diamond or Platinum). Combining two common NFTs (like T5 + T5) will most likely result in a Bronze Key.
- It's About Probability, Not Certainty! Except for the Mythic override (see below), no combination guarantees a specific Key Tier with 100% certainty. We've built in a small element of luck. For instance, even submitting two T1 NFTs gives a very high chance (95%) for Diamond, but there's still a small chance you might get Platinum instead. Similarly, two T5s will yield Bronze 95% of the time, but could give you a Silver Key 5% of the time!
- ⭐ Mythic Trait Override: The Exception! If either of the NFTs you submit has the special Mythic Trait, you bypass all these standard odds entirely. You are 100% guaranteed to receive a Mythic Key!
- Keep Exchanging Your Characters! This Key Exchange process isn't a one-time event. You can repeat the exchange – submitting another pair of Characters to get another Key (and have one randomly burned) – as many times as you like, as long as you have Characters available to submit! There's no limit to how many Keys you can acquire through the exchange, other than your supply of Characters.

This table forms the basis for the Key Exchange odds. If the "Virtual Rarity Upgrade" system is used for Promotional Tier NFTs, their 'Effective Tiers' will be used with this table. If the "Promotional Tier Override" system is used, its separate fixed odds apply instead when a Promotional Tier NFT is involved.

"Promotional Tier Override QuantLuck "
Concept:
This method provides a very direct benefit. If you use any NFT with a Promotional Tier from buying a treasure NFT from luck.quantapes.com, it overrides the standard rarity calculations and sets your odds based directly on that Promotional Tier level, regardless of the actual ranks involved.
How it Works:
- Activation: As soon as the system detects at least one Promotional Tier NFT among your two submissions, this Override rule activates.
- Highest Tier Wins: If both NFTs have a Promotional Tier, the highest tier between the two dictates the odds. (e.g., Gold Promo + Silver Promo uses the Gold Promo odds).
- Rarity Ignored: The T1-T5 rarity ranks of both submitted NFTs are completely ignored in this scenario.
- Fixed Odds: Your key outcome probabilities are set directly as follows:

Example:
- You submit NFT A: Actual Rarity T5 (common), no promo tier.
- You submit NFT B: Actual Rarity T5 (common), but has a Gold Promotional Tier.
- The system ignores the T5 ranks entirely. Because a Gold Promotional Tier is present, your odds are instantly set to 1% Platinum, 98% Gold, 1% Silver.
In Short: Your promo NFT guarantees odds centered around its tier level, offering a predictable and powerful advantage. (Remember, the Mythic Rule still applies first!)
The Key Upgrade Gamble!
Want to turn your Keys into higher tiers? Now you can try your luck with the Key Upgrade system! Be warned: it's a gamble!
How Key Upgrading Works:
- Choose Your Key: Select an existing Key you're willing to risk – Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum. (Note: Diamond Keys are the top tier and cannot be upgraded).
- Attempt the Upgrade: When you initiate the upgrade, your selected Key is consumed.
- The 50/50 Result: There are only two possible outcomes, each with a 50% chance:
- ✅ SUCCESS (25% Chance): You hit the jackpot! Your original Key is replaced by a new Key of the NEXT HIGHER rank.
- Bronze becomes Silver
- Silver becomes Gold
- Gold becomes Platinum
- Platinum becomes Diamond
- ❌ FAILURE (75% Chance): Tough luck! Your original Key is consumed/burned, and you receive nothing in return.
Repeat the Gamble: You can attempt to upgrade any eligible Key (Bronze to Platinum) as many times as you like.
